Wan 2.6 vs Veo 3.1: cost per second and clip length

Two published price lists, read side by side on 2026-10-22: fal's Wan 2.6 model pages and Google's Veo 3.1 pricing and documentation. Every figure links to the page it came from.

Read from each provider's own pages on 2026-10-22. Prices change; re-check the linked sources before you rely on a number.

What each provider's own page states

The table quotes the rate lines from the linked pages rather than restating them from memory. Wan 2.6 appears once because fal states the same per-second rate on its text-to-video, image-to-video and reference-to-video model pages.

Wan 2.6 (fal)$0.10 per second at 720p; $0.15 per second at 1080p720p, 1080pNot stated on fal; this site offers 5, 10 or 15 seconds for text-to-video and image-to-video, and 5 or 10 seconds for reference-to-videoOptional audio URL input

fal's Wan 2.6 pages do not state a duration range, so the lengths in that row come from this site's own controls. Google lists Veo prices under "Paid Tier, per second in USD" and marks the free tier "Not available"; its Veo documentation states that audio is always on.

What one clip costs at those rates

Each cost below multiplies the stated per-second rate by the clip length. Neither provider publishes a per-clip price for these combinations, so this is arithmetic on their rates, not a quote. Taxes, minimums and account fees are not included.

Wan 2.6 does not offer an 8-second clip here (the controls offer 5, 10 or 15 seconds), so the Wan rows use lengths the site can actually request. The Veo rows use 8 seconds because that is the longest duration its documentation lists.

Where they differ beyond the per-second rate

Clip ceiling

Veo 3.1 returns 4, 6 or 8 seconds per generation, and 8 seconds is required for 1080p, 4k, extension or reference images; extension is 720p-only. The Wan 2.6 controls on this site offer 5, 10 or 15 seconds for text-to-video and image-to-video, and 5 or 10 seconds for reference-to-video. A single continuous 10-second take is not a combination Veo's page lists.

Audio

Google documents Veo 3.1 as generating audio natively, with audio always on. Wan 2.6 on fal exposes an optional audio URL input instead, so whether an output carries audio depends on the route and the input you supply.

Resolution ceiling

Veo 3.1 Standard and Fast list 4k, at $0.60 and $0.30 per second. The Wan 2.6 pages checked list 720p and 1080p only.

How you buy it

Veo 3.1 is sold as a paid API tier; Google's pricing page marks the free tier not available. Wan 2.6 is reached through third-party hosts such as fal, and on this site through credit packs and plans, with the credit cost of a request shown before you submit it.

What this page does not claim

  • It is not a quality benchmark. No blind test, preference vote or sample comparison was run for this page; the figures are prices and stated limits only.
  • The figures are dated readings, not live quotes. Either provider can change a rate without notice, which is why each source is linked with the date it was read.
  • No claim is made that either model is better. They differ in clip length, resolution ceiling, audio behaviour and price, and those differences are listed rather than scored.
  • One vendor was left out on purpose: fal's Seedance 1.0 Pro page states roughly $0.62 per 1080p 5-second video in its page copy and $0.74 in its README, so no figure from it appears in this comparison.
